Late Major Muhammad Abbas Ali (1923-2009), commonly known as Major Abbas is a VOLUNTEER CHARITY WALKER from PAKISTAN. Since 1986 he has walked over 10,000KM in various countries to help the poor and needy around the globe.

Allah has given the honour of being the first person in modern history to have walked 2500 KM across the Arabian Peninsula to Makkah and Medina for Hajj and charity in 1987. He has dedicated the rest of his life to serve humanity in his own humble way. His motto being "SERVICE TO HUMANITY IS SERVICE TO ALLAH." His aim in life is to TOIL & SWEAT to help the needy. The Rich pay ZAKAT on their wealth Major Abbas pays ZAKAT on his health.
SKY DIVED 10, 500 ft in September 1998 at the age of 77 to raise funds for the "SUPPORT A CHILD SAVE THE NATION." This welfare project will cover the Indo-Pak Sub-continent that is Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. It has initially been introduced in Pakistan. The aim of this project is to eradicate CHILD LABOUR.
PERFORMANCE
By the grace of Allah - Major Abbas with the help of his wife established MUSLIM WELFARE CENTRE in 1993 and MUSLIM WELFARE HOME FOR NEEDY WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN 1995 - both are FIRST OF THEIR KIND IN NORTH AMERICA. In 1997 a branch of Muslim Welfare Centre was established in Mississauga, Ontario with a COMPUTER TRAINING CENTRE, GENERAL COACHING CENTRE (from Grade1-9), FREE QURAN & ESL CLASSES, and HALAL FOOD BANKS.
Due to his untiring efforts Muslim Institute of Computer Technologies , approved and registered by the Government of Canada, had been established in Mississauga - This again was the FIRST OF ITS KIND in this REGION.
Major ABBAS has established 3 HALAL FOOD andESSENTIAL ITEMS BANKS and HALAL MEALS ON WHEELS in Toronto.
Major ABBAS (83) a chronic arthritis and MRS. SARWAR ABBAS (73) heart patient with 4 bypass surgery recently walked 100KM to raise funds for SENIOR HOME. He has pledged his eyes to the needy and donated his body after death to Medical Science for the benefit of HUMANITY. His wife, SARWAR JAHAN BEGUM has been and still remains the driving force behind all our welfare projects. She has also dedicated the rest of her life to serve the needy.
