In Inuvik, NWT, a staggering 46.1% face food insecurity, over 8 times the Canadian average. The Arctic North’s First Nations communities are in dire need.
The Arctic Food Bank, initiated by Muslim Welfare Canada, has served over 5,000 families since 2015, providing essential food, meat, and supplies. With branches in Inuvik and Iqaluit, between 80 and 120 families attend food distribution once every two weeks.
