Giving Hope

Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and tsunamis seem to hit around the world with regularity, and without warning. While the duration of these events last mere seconds or minutes, the devastation is often irreparable. Every year, communities around the globe experience such devastation, leaving people homeless; injured or disabled; penniless, and with little hope for rebuilding their lives. Natural disasters take a significant human toll and compel each of us to do our part; to lend a hand; to support each other.

In partnership with the Red Cross, International Development & Relief Foundation, Islamic Relief and other relief organizations, we have coordinated and delivered humanitarian aid and funding during large scale natural and man-made disasters.

We have engaged in aid and disaster relief funding for Bangladesh, Philippines, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, regions of the Caribbean, and Pakistan, as well as provided humanitarian aid in Syria and Myanmar. Closer to home, we have been in Calgary during the floods and in New Orleans, USA during Hurricane Katrina.

Our goal is to respond immediately and responsibly to the needs of people in disaster-affected areas and we do this to the extent made possible by the generosity of our donors and supporters. To learn more or to make a donation, please email muslim@mwcanada.org or call us at 416-754-8116.
