Charity Starts At Home
This Ramadan, donate your zakat to our local efforts and help your neighbours during the COVID-19 crisis.
Muslim Welfare Canada is aiming to raise $1M for our COVID-19 Emergency Food Fund. On average, 850,000 Canadians turn to food banks every month. As we are now in the second year since COVID-19 began, the crisis has had long-term effects on Canadians throughout the country. The number of those who need our help continues to rise. Canadians are struggling without their jobs. Food programs through schools and community centers are still on hold. As the pandemic continues, it is our duty to make sure those around us do not suffer. Your neighbours need your help.
With your donations, MWC aims to:
- Deliver food packages to those who are unable to leave their homes or afford groceries
- Continue to deliver fresh meals to the most vulnerable segments of our community, including seniors
- Replenish and stock our food banks so that we can continue to help the marginalized when they need it the most
We believe that Charity Starts At Home. We need to tend to the crisis at hand, in our own communities. We’ve been on a mission to Leave No One Hungry for the past 28 years. Now, when our fellow Canadians need us the most, we will not let them down.
