Since mid-June, heavy rains have affected more than 33 million people. These vulnerable people can’t recover on their own.
Monsoon season is always difficult for Pakistan, but this year’s floods have been some of the worst in history. More than 1,600 have died and 12,860 were injured. The situation is desperate, and the people of Pakistan need our help.
This is only the beginning.
It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the enormity of natural disasters and wonder what one person can do to help. But every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference in the lives of those affected by the floods. Relief efforts focus on providing clean water, food, and temporary shelter for those who have lost their homes.
In the longer term, Pakistan needs our help rebuilding infrastructure and restoring livelihoods. It’s not just a responsibility for governments alone – as global citizens, we all have a role to play in aiding those in need. By donating money, we can contribute to recovery efforts and give hope to families struggling in the aftermath of this disaster.
MWC is on the ground now in Pakistan. With our partners, we have distributed 900 water purification units and supplied families in Sindh with hundreds of tents and mosquito nets. As families are forced to choose one person to eat each day, we distribute thousands of food rations to keep women, men, and children from going hungry.
For the next phase of relief efforts, we need your help. Now that families are receiving food and other necessities to combat exposure, the following steps are rebuilding their lives, homes, and livelihoods. When you donate, you’re saving lives and improving them. Join MWC in helping our brothers and sisters in Pakistan recover from one of the worst disasters in decades.
